Our client, a leading law firm, is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join their team on a part-time, 12-month fixed-term contract to provide maternity cover. The successful candidate will ideally be available to start immediately.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all health and safety activities across the firm, ensuring full compliance with current legislation and best practice.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the firm's health and safety policies and procedures.
- Record and investigate incidents and accidents, producing monthly reports and statistics for senior management.
- Work closely with internal teams to coordinate and manage contractors on site.
- Review and update risk assessments, carrying out new assessments where required and providing practical advice to minimise risks.
- Ensure all contractors adhere to the firm's health and safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct Display Screen Equipment assessments.
- Maintain and continuously improve fire safety procedures to ensure the wellbeing of all employees and visitors.
- Coordinate and organise training for first aiders and fire marshals, delivering training sessions where required.
- Manage the central health and safety inbox, responding to queries and requests across the firm.
About You:
- Previous experience in a Health & Safety Manager or similar role.
- Strong working knowledge of current UK health and safety legislation.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Confident working independently and building strong relationships across the business.
- NEBOSH qualification or equivalent is desirable.
- Available to commence the role at short notice.
