An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Legal Assistant to join the Litigation & Dispute Resolution team of a leading international law firm based in Leeds.
This is a fantastic role for someone with previous legal experience who is looking to develop a long-term career within a top-tier legal environment.
You'll work alongside experienced lawyers on a broad range of complex and high-profile disputes, investigations and regulatory matters, gaining valuable hands-on experience from day one.
This is a varied, hands-on position where you'll become an integral part of a busy and collaborative team.
You'll support solicitors and partners on a range of contentious matters while developing your legal knowledge, commercial awareness and practical experience.
The role offers excellent exposure to legal proceedings, client-facing work and complex case management, with opportunities to attend court hearings, client meetings, conferences with Counsel and witness interviews.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting solicitors and partners with the day-to-day management of litigation matters
- Preparing court bundles, hearing packs and supporting documentation
- Drafting first versions of witness statements, chronologies and other legal documents
- Conducting legal and factual research
- Attending court hearings, client meetings, conferences with Counsel and witness interviews, taking detailed notes and recording follow-up actions
- Managing case files and ensuring document management systems remain up to date
- Proofreading, formatting and cross-referencing legal documents
- Assisting with billing, financial administration and matter reporting
- Supporting business development initiatives, client events and training activities
The successful candidate will have
- Previous legal experience within a law firm
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
