Our client is a leading law firm with origins dating back to the late 1700s. Having established themselves as market leaders in banking and corporate, they have grown internationally with over 700 members of staff located across offices in the UK, Middle & Far East. Due to expansion, they currently have an opening for a Financial Accountant to join their successful finance team. This is a newly created role where you will be responsible for the preparation of statutory and management accounts and assisting with pricing and profitability queries.
Responsibilities
- Prepare management accounts for selected Central Support departments, including quarterly meetings with directors to assess costs against budget.
- Prepare management accounts for selected fee earner departments, meeting with departments as appropriate to discuss performance.
- Reporting management account results to Heads of Department.
- Preparation of year end statutory accounts for group companies.
- Preparing year end files in preparation for year-end audit.
- Supporting the Accounting and Reporting Manager in year-end consolidation processes.
- Assist with client profitability queries and related pricing questions.
- Reviewing UK quarterly balance sheet reconciliation file and feeding points back to Management Accounts team.
- Reviewing monthly bank account reconciliations.
Candidate Profile
- ACA qualified or equivalent.
- Previous experience working in‑house in legal sector or professional services.
- Good working knowledge of Excel.
- Experience in Elite practice management system advantageous.
