About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Speech & Language Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team, supporting exceptional learners in a rewarding educational environment. You will deliver hands-on therapy, assessments, and intervention plans for students with complex speech, language, and communication needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to pupils with a variety of communication needs, including those with ASC, dyslexia, and other specific learning difficulties.
- Conduct assessments and develop individualised therapy plans that align with each learner's educational goals and developmental stage.
- Collaborate with teaching staff and other therapists to integrate therapy into daily classroom routines and learning activities.
- Offer guidance and training to school staff on strategies to support speech, language, and communication needs in the classroom.
- Engage with families to share strategies, offer support, and ensure consistency between school and home environments.
- Maintain clear and timely documentation, including progress reports, session notes, and contributions to EHCPs and review meetings.
- Take part in regular professional development and contribute to the continuous improvement of therapy services within the school.
Person Specification
- A degree in Speech and Language Therapy
- Minimum 2 years experience as a qualified SaLT
- HCPC and RCSLT membership
- Experience of assessing and implementing appropriate management plans for speech and language therapy
- Experience working with children and young people with ASC, dyslexia, and other specific learning difficulties
