We are seeking a Zero Waste Lead to help drive world‑class circular economy and zero‑waste solutions across our client portfolio. This role supports operational teams in delivering high‑quality, compliant waste services while maximising performance and sustainability outcomes.
We are looking for someone who brings deep subject‑matter expertise in sustainability and waste reduction, strong analytical skills, and the ability to translate insights into real‑world improvements. Working closely with contract teams and clients, you will identify opportunities to reduce waste, enhance recycling performance, and implement innovative solutions that support wider environmental goals.
Key Responsibilities- Set up and manage waste reduction plans during the mobilisation of new client contracts.
- Identify opportunities to increase recycling rates and reduce waste across client sites.
- Act as the waste subject‑matter expert, providing guidance and best practice to operational teams and clients.
- Support bids and proposals by advising on appropriate waste solutions for prospective contracts.
- Work collaboratively with operational teams to ensure waste services are compliant, efficient and aligned to contract requirements.
- Lead and deliver waste‑related projects from planning through to implementation.
- Use data insights to assess waste service performance and recommend improvements.
- Support clients in achieving sustainability targets and resolving waste‑related challenges.
- SME‑level knowledge of sustainability, zero‑waste approaches and circular economy principles.
- Experience developing or working with zero‑waste strategies.
- Understanding of waste industry trends and operational environments.
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Commercial mindset with strong financial acumen.
- Experience managing complex projects, including risk mitigation and KPI reporting.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and communicate data insights.
- Understanding of facilities management and waste or cleaning service delivery.
- Ability to convert business insights and customer expectations into practical, deliverable solutions.
- UK driving licence (required for regional travel).
