Yeovil College is looking for a Careers and Work Placement Co‑ordinator to join our highly successful Employer Engagement department, with an August 2026 start date to coincide with the new academic year. This role focuses on delivering outstanding careers information, advice and guidance while coordinating meaningful work experience and industry placements for full‑time learners.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate work experience and placement programmes for learners, building and sustaining strong partnerships with employers to ensure placements are engaging, well‑managed and aligned to curriculum goals.
- Embed employability and career education into the learner journey, maintain a rich and relevant bank of careers resources, and support progression into further study, apprenticeships and employment.
- Provide tailored inclusion support to ensure all learners have access to high‑quality placements.
- Contribute to strategic priorities in line with the National Careers Strategy and Gatsby Benchmarks, delivering a high‑impact, forward‑thinking service.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with students, staff and external partners.
- Confident presenter, ideally with experience delivering talks, workshops and careers sessions.
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with curriculum teams and external stakeholders, including schools, universities and careers services.
- Grade 4 qualification in English and Maths, or equivalent.
- Highly collaborative team player.
- Able to work effectively to deadlines and manage competing priorities.
- Full driving licence and access to a car.
