Do you have experience of working with people with a learning disability? Are you passionate about working for an organisation that drives change? Then we may have the role for you at Mencap Training Academy. We are seeking dedicated and self-motivated Skills Coaches to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis (37.5 hours per week). In this role, you will drive our employability programs, including Supported Internships, and provide tailored support to learners with SEND. You will be accountable for learner progression in the workplace and achieving outcomes for the learner. You will deliver support in various ways: 1-1 job coaching, helping learners develop employability skills, and embedding English and Math learning in the workplace. The role aims to help people learn the skills they need to go on to sustained paid employment.
Responsibilities
- Be the driving force behind employability programs (including Supported Internships).
- Provide tailored support to learners with SEND and monitor learner progression in the workplace.
- Deliver support through 1-1 job coaching, developing employability skills, and embedding English and Math in the workplace.
- Help learners achieve sustained paid employment.
Qualifications & Experience (Essential)
- Proven experience supporting individuals.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve targets.
- Strong understanding of safe working practices.
- A good knowledge of the Educational and SEN sectors.
- GCSE English & Maths (A-C/9-4 or equivalent).
- Proficient ICT skills.
- Excellent communication and record-keeping abilities.
- Valid UK driving license and access to a reliable vehicle for frequent travel within the Worcestershire area.
