We are working on behalf of an SEN school based in Worcestershire who are looking for an SEN teacher to carry out long-term cover.

Role Details

The role will start in the summer term and continue through the end of the academic year, potentially into September.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm, term‑time only, temporary time sheet basis, and the teacher will be paid to scale in line with their experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Cover Science, or any other subject area, for pupils aged 11–16 who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream due to social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges.
  • Work with pupils who also have other special needs such as ASC and ADHD.
  • Demonstrate empathy and understanding for working with children with SEMH and apply strong behaviour management skills.
  • Support the close‑knit school team, follow good practice and use a mainstream‑style approach where appropriate.
  • Experience of Team Teach or similar de‑escalation techniques is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Unqualified teachers may apply if they have an interest in and experience of teaching children with SEMH at any level.
  • Strong behaviour‑management ability and empathy for pupils with SEMH.
  • Experience, or willingness, to work with pupils aged 11–16 who are at risk of exclusion.
