This is a hands-on management role responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service, operational efficiency, food safety compliance, and strong team performance within a busy healthcare environment. The role requires the manager to lead a retail and catering team, maintain high operational standards, and support the delivery of a welcoming and professional service for patients, visitors, and hospital staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of the healthcare retail and restaurant environment.
  • Lead, motivate, and supervise retail and catering teams to achieve service and performance targets.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and professionally resolve customer queries or concerns.
  • Monitor stock levels, coordinate inventory control, and ensure product availability.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming retail and dining environment at all times.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of team members.
  • Prepare staff rotas and manage workforce productivity effectively.
  • Implement merchandising, promotional, and sales initiatives to drive revenue and customer engagement.
  • Ensure the operation consistently maintains a Five Star Food Hygiene rating.

Competencies & Qualifications

  • Experience within retail, hospitality, or healthcare retail management.
  • Level 3 Food Safety qualification essential.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Good understanding of stock control, retail operations, and compliance standards.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office and retail management systems.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
