About the Role
Blessed Edward Oldcorne Catholic College is a Catholic community of aspiration dedicated to all its students excelling spiritually and academically. The Family Support Worker (FSW) is a school‑based role that works as part of the pastoral and safeguarding team to support pupils aged 11‑16 and their families. The purpose of the role is to reduce barriers to learning, improve attendance and engagement, and promote positive outcomes through early help and targeted family support.
Key Responsibilities
- Support families to access appropriate services and strengthen links between home and school.
- Identify and support pupils at risk of disengagement or poor attendance.
- Maintain accurate records of support activities and outcomes.
- Collaborate with the Designated Safeguarding Lead and senior pastoral staff to enhance safeguarding culture.
- Contribute to early intervention strategies to promote positive outcomes.
