A well-established metal company based in Wolverhampton seeks a reliable and skilled HGV Class 2 Hiab Hook Driver to join its logistics team. The successful candidate delivers metal products across designated routes. This role involves operating a Hiab hook loader to offload goods safely and efficiently. The position requires a commitment to safety, punctuality, and excellent vehicle handling skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive a Class 2 Heavy Goods Vehicle safely and in accordance with all relevant road traffic laws and company policies.
- Operate the Hiab hook loader to offload metal products at various delivery sites.
- Plan daily routes to ensure timely deliveries, maintaining clear communication with the logistics team.
- Conduct daily vehicle safety checks and report any defects or issues promptly.
- Ensure all paperwork, including delivery notes and vehicle logs, is completed accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the vehicle and equipment.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Work typically Monday to Friday with occasional 1 to 2 night shifts per week as required.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid HGV Class 2 driving licence.
- Certificate of competence to operate a Hiab hook loader.
- Newly qualified drivers are welcome to apply.
- Experience in delivering metal products or within a similar logistics or distribution environment is beneficial but not essential.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficient in operating heavy goods vehicles safely and efficiently.
