The Best Connection are currently recruiting for an Experienced Production Planner / Scheduler to join our client's established manufacturing operation. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced planning professional to join the senior team within a busy injection moulding manufacturing environment, working closely with the Production Director and production team.
Hours: Full time
Thursday: 08:00 - 17:00
Friday: 08:00 - 16:00
The Role
As the Planning Manager, you will be responsible for converting customer orders and forecasts into effective production plans, ensuring customer requirements and agreed delivery dates are achieved. The company operates an injection moulding facility with approximately 40 machines, producing around 1,000 different part numbers across a mixture of repeat and batch production.
Key Responsibilities
- Convert customer orders and forecasts into accurate production plans using established ERP systems.
- Prioritise production schedules to ensure acknowledged and promised delivery dates are achieved.
- Communicate production plans clearly to the manufacturing team.
- Monitor production progress and proactively identify any potential delays or issues.
- Maintain a strong understanding of current production status, priorities and available capacity.
- Liaise directly with customers by telephone and email, developing strong and professional working relationships.
- Work closely with the Production Director and wider senior management team.
- Coordinate with the administration team regarding order processing, production paperwork and output data.
- Proactively communicate changes to priorities and production requirements.
- Work collaboratively with production and other departments to ensure plans are delivered effectively.
- Take a hands-on and proactive approach to planning, problem-solving and prioritisation.
About You
The successful candidate will have previous experience in a production planning or scheduling role, ideally within a manufacturing environment. You will need to be organised, proactive and confident managing multiple priorities in a busy production environment. Excellent communication skills are essential, as the role involves regular contact with customers as well as close communication with production teams. Experience working with ERP planning systems and a good understanding of manufacturing processes and production scheduling would be highly advantageous.
