About this job:
- To assist with the day to day operational supervision of the defined team within the department.
- To assist with ensuring that all staff are fully trained and equipped to undertake their roles, identifying any issues to the Patient Access Supervisor.
- To co-ordinate the rotation of clerical staff throughout the department, ensuring an efficient skill mix of the multiple tasks to be carried out, including re-organisation of work to ensure that changing priorities are met.
- To support the Patient Access Supervisor in ensuring that all Patient Access staff are fully trained in departmental procedures, including the operation of all computerised systems within the department.
- To support the Patient Access Supervisor with the implementation of procedural and policy changes which arise from the further development of the department or Trust.
- To communicate effectively and with colleagues at all levels within the Trust and outside agencies using tact and diplomacy at all times.
- To update and maintain information stored on departmental databases.
- To maintain a dynamic Personal Development Plan demonstrating a clear commitment to continuous education and self-directed learning.
- The post holder will be expected to participate in an annual appraisal of their work in line with the Knowledge and Skills Framework (KSF).
- In line with the annual personal development plan the post holder will be expected to undertake any training or development required to fulfil their role.
- The post holder must attend all relevant mandatory training in health and safety, risk assessment, infection control etc.
