An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a dynamic and innovative team at the Royal Wolverhampton Hospital NHS Trust as a Device Consultant Cardiologist. The post holder will work in conjunction with Consultant and Senior colleagues to provide device service and general cardiology, and play a full part in the out‑of‑hours On‑Call service for the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide device service and general cardiology care.
  • Participate fully in the 1:17 week cardiology ward weekday on‑call rota.
  • See an average of 10‑12 patients per clinic, including new and review cases.
  • Cover cardiology ward and On‑Call duties; support ward coverage during on‑call weeks (the ward has 43 beds).
  • Collaborate closely with Consultant colleagues and the current Cardiology Lead; mentor a locum consultant if desired.
  • Work with middle‑grade staff and other clinical teams (FY2’s, ANP, specialty doctors) during on‑call weeks.
  • Engage in out‑of‑hours On‑Call service, including participation with PCI and emergency PCI rotas.

Working Conditions

This role includes a 1:17 week cardiology ward weekday on‑call rota, with additional on‑call elements discussed post‑appointment. The Trust offers flexible working arrangements to suit individual needs.
