- Days: Monday to Friday
- Standard hours: 07.30 hrs - 16.30 hrs
This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy.
Responsibilities
- Deliver and collect the company's units and equipment to its customers, ensuring timely arrival at the correct location.
- Plan deliveries to achieve optimum fuel consumption and efficient use of driver time.
- Inspect all units and equipment on collection to confirm good order, recording any visible damage, excessive dirtiness, or missing items.
- Ensure all necessary company paperwork is completed accurately to avoid later disputes, including obtaining signatures upon delivery or collection and documenting any damage or missing items.
- Drive company vehicles safely, courteously, and responsibly, complying with transport regulations relating to driving hours and tacograph use.
- Operate all lifting equipment safely and in accordance with company safety directives and method statements.
- Load and unload plant and equipment following safe practice and company safety directives.
- Ensure axle weights are not exceeded.
- Conduct daily checks of vehicle and lifting/holding equipment (including straps and chains), record any defects, and report them to the Foreman / Depot Manager / Fleet Manager.
Qualifications
- C+E Driving Licence is essential.
- At least 2 years of commercial driving experience.
- Good geographical knowledge of the local and surrounding areas.
- Customer‑focused experience and expertise.
- Good physical health, as the role can be physically demanding at times.
- Flexibility to work reasonable overtime if required and adherence to all health and safety practice.
