The Best Connection Employment Group Limited are currently recruiting for a Shift Engineer to join our Client based in the Winsford area. You will be responsible for ensuring production and maintenance activities run smoothly during your shift, keeping critical packaging machinery operating safely, efficiently and to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily production and maintenance activities on your shift.
- Ensure continuous operation of packaging lines and associated machinery.
- Fault‑find, diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical breakdowns.
- Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM).
- Supervise and support shift technicians and operators.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, hygiene and quality.
- Minimise downtime and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure accurate shift handovers and reporting.
About You
- Proven experience as a multi‑skilled engineer within a manufacturing or packaging environment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault‑finding skills.
- Experience working on packaging machinery (gluers / printers highly desirable).
- Comfortable working rotating shifts.
- Ability to lead by example and support a production team.
- Good understanding of health & safety and quality standards.
Pay and Shift Pattern
Salary around £40,000 depending on experience. 8 hours, 3 shifts rotating. Temp to perm/Permanent.
