About the role
HC-One seeks a dedicated Chef who brings culinary skills and passion to our care home kitchen, preparing and serving wholesome, homemade meals to residents each day.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals that meet residents’ dietary needs.
- Plan menus creatively, ensuring dishes are appetising and suitable for residents.
- Maintain the highest standards of food safety and kitchen practice, applying HACCP principles.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and care teams, contributing to a positive, caring environment.
- Recognise signs of abuse, harm or neglect and follow safeguarding procedures, including training and escalation as required.
Qualifications
- Recognised qualification: S/NVQ2 in Catering & Hospitality or Professional Cookery.
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Experience in a care or residential kitchen setting (preferred).
Safeguarding
All colleagues must attend safeguarding training appropriate to their role and undertake additional training in associated areas. You should be able to recognize signs of possible abuse, harm or neglect, advise appropriately and report concerns, escalating if necessary.
