ABOUT US: GARO Engineering Ltd. is a small mechanical engineering company looking to fill a permanent position for a skilled Miller/Turner. We have been serving all types of industries and manufacturers of all sizes since our establishment and we are based in Bickerstaffe, Lancashire, (L39 0HF) with great motorway access.

The successful candidate will preferably be time served and experienced on a variety of machine tools including manual centre lathes and milling machines, working to close tolerances from drawings and samples, manufacturing new components or refurbishing old ones. The ideal candidate must be reliable and hardworking with the ability to work alone as well as with others. They must be able to problem solve and adapt themselves to change in work as no two jobs are often the same.

Essential skills required:

  • Experience in machining
  • Effective planning and organisational skills
  • Able to work on your own initiative
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to build good rapport with customers
  • Able to work in the UK
  • Basic electrical and hydraulic knowledge would be beneficial
  • Full UK driving licence

This is a hands-on role, to carry mechanical tasks with a sense of urgency as we are frequently doing breakdown work at short notice using a wide range of materials and the candidate must be prepared to work overtime, if needed. You will have good interpersonal skills in order to communicate well with customers as well as with other company employees, managers and directors.
