Responsibilities:
- Conduct process audits and perform data analysis to identify and resolve root causes of quality issues.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement solutions and prevent recurrence.
- Perform regular inspections of raw materials, production processes, and finished products to ensure compliance with established quality standards.
- Maintain adherence to food safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies, staying current with regulatory changes and best practices.
- Assist in implementation and maintenance of HACCP to prevent food safety hazards.
- Participate in internal and external audits, inspections, and certifications.
- Collaborate with procurement to assess and monitor the quality of raw materials and ingredients from suppliers, and support emergency response procedures including product recalls.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of quality control activities, test results, and non‑conformities in line with documentation requirements.
- Provide training to production personnel on processes, procedures, food safety practices, and hygiene standards.
- Manage complaint procedures and systems to ensure issues are resolved.
Qualifications:
- Food science degree or a related subject.
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations, HACCP, and GMP.
- Experience in a similar food safety, compliance or technical role within food manufacturing is highly advantageous.

- Salary: £30,000 to £33,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
- Location: Wigan (Greater Manchester). Commutable from Manchester, Bolton, Warrington, Preston, Ormskirk, St Helens, Chorley, Bury, and surrounding areas.
