Location: HMP Hindley, Wigan WN2 5TH.
Salary: £30,866 - £36,135 (incl. 15% weekend allowance).
Shift rota: 39 hours per week.
Hours & Shifts:
- Mon–Fri: 07:45 - 16:45
- Sat–Sun: 07:45 - 15:45 (1 in 3 weekends)
Responsibilities:
- Planned and reactive electrical maintenance
- Fault finding and repairs across site
- Electrical testing and inspections (BS7671)
- Minor works and replacements
- Ensure systems are safe, compliant and operational
- Follow H&S procedures, RAMS and safe systems of work
- Support wider team and escort duties when required
Qualifications:
- Level 2 Electrical Installation
- 18th Edition preferred (17th accepted with training)
- Experience in maintenance / fault finding
- Knowledge of Electric at Work Regulations
- Good understanding of H&S
- Able to work independently and at height
- Basic IT skills
Desirable:
- Fire alarm or CCTV knowledge
Security Clearance:
- Pass prison security clearance and standard DBS (supported by Amey).
