Hazel Tree Education is recruiting on behalf of a specialist school in Preston for a dedicated and experienced Level 2 Learning Support Assistant to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis from September 2025. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils both individually and in small groups, helping them access learning, develop independence, build confidence, and achieve positive outcomes both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored support to pupils with SEND, ASD, SEMH and behavioural needs.
- Promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
- Support pupils' emotional, social and communication development.
- Assist teachers with classroom activities and learning resources.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Essential Requirements
- Recent experience working with children or young people with additional needs.
- Strong understanding of SEND, ASD, SEMH and behaviour support strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive, flexible and proactive approach.
- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
- Right to work in the UK.
