We are currently recruiting for a Domestic Assistant based at Wrightington Hospital. The position is a 20‑hour per week post, Monday to Friday 16:00 – 20:00. Applications are scored against the person specification. Candidates with the highest scores will be invited to interview. Responsibilities
- General cleaning
- Isolation cleaning
- High and low dusting
- Wet and dry mopping
- Clean toilets, baths and washbasins
- Empty clinical and general waste bins and place bags in designated areas
- Vacuum cleaning
- Scrub and buff floors with a mechanical machine
- Carpet shampooing
- Use chemicals and cleaning equipment responsibly and within health and safety guidelines
- Maintain staff and public safety through appropriate use of warning signage while cleaning
- Work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team delivering high standards of cleaning in clinical and non‑clinical areas
- Clean specific areas in line with Trust policy and national cleaning standards
- Provide a cleaning service in accordance with approved methods, standards and frequencies
- Provide support for terminal and infection cleans, ensuring compliance with infection control procedures
- Remove and clean up uncontained body fluid spillages in line with Trust policy and national standards
- Use cleaning equipment, machinery and materials once trained; spot defects and report to the supervisor
- Execute Bioquell Q50‑HPV decontamination duties when required and comply with all associated procedures
- Adopt a flexible approach when undertaking domestic duties
