Leigh Central Primary School is a welcoming and diverse one-form entry primary school in the middle of Leigh town centre. The children and their families are very important to us and are central to all we do. The Governors are seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic teacher to join our resourced provision team, supporting pupils with specific needs, including Autism and speech, language and communication needs within our EYFS/KS1 dedicated Resource Provisioned room inside our inclusive mainstream school. Our resourced provision currently supports 5 pupils, enabling them to access high quality teaching alongside carefully planned inclusion within mainstream classes. You will work closely with the SENDCo, support staff, families and external professionals to ensure each pupil achieves their full potential.

Responsibilities

  • Outstanding classroom practitioner with a proven track record of working with children with a wide range of educational needs.
  • Passionate about learning and committed to the aims, purpose and ethos of our diverse school.
  • Effective communicator with all members of the school community.
  • Responsible for planning learning opportunities for children within our Resourced Provision with the support of our SENDCo.
  • Strong understanding of SEND and inclusive practices, including planning for a wide range of needs and how to adapt teaching to meet these.
  • Experience of working within EHCPs and multi‑agency working.
  • Knowledge of specific interventions or approaches (e.g. TEACCH, Attention Autism, Zones of Regulation).
  • Flexible, open to new ideas and a team player keen to contribute to our Resourced Provision team.
  • Effective behaviour management skills and an understanding of trauma‑informed approaches.
  • Committed to safeguarding children’s welfare and keeping them safe.

Interview Process

The interview process will consist of a teaching observation followed by an interview with two members of the senior leadership team and an unseen task. All candidates will be required to demonstrate their ability to meet and maintain all Professional Standards for Teachers.
