We are seeking Anaesthetic ODPs & Registered Nurses to join a highly motivated multidisciplinary team at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The role is a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover, with the possibility of becoming permanent. Applicants must be a registered nurse with a nationally recognised anaesthetic qualification or an Operating Department Practitioner. The position involves a 24-hour working pattern, including weekends and night duty, and offers training, CPD support and a dynamic multi-skilled workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient-centred care in recovery, scrub and other areas.
- Apply evidence-based practice to identify, maintain and improve quality of care.
- Demonstrate compliance with NMC / HCPC Codes of Conduct.
- Participate in effective utilisation of allocated resources and funding.
- Engage in professional development and coordinate training of less experienced staff.
- Promote safe systems and risk reduction, complying with Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and clinical governance standards.
- Apply local and national policies and strategies impacting the clinical area.
- Adapt to changing needs of the service and support organisational objectives creatively.
Key Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with national anaesthetic qualification or Operating Department Practitioner.
- Experience with recovery and scrub roles is advantageous.

Work Pattern & Rotation
The post involves a 24-hour shift structure covering weekdays, weekends and nights, with internal rotation across the sites within the Trust.
