We are looking for an outstanding, compassionate and experienced Senior Support Worker with a passion for delivering excellent care to join our team at Cygnet Paddocks in Widnes.
You’ll be working 42 hours per week, across days, nights and alternate weekends, making a positive difference to the lives of the people in our care.

About Cygnet Paddocks Cygnet Paddocks is our specialist neuropsychiatric rehabilitation hospital for men, located in Widnes in the North West . The service provides a dedicated care pathway for men affected by acquired brain injury or neurological conditions, where behaviours that challenge may be the main barrier to recovery and rehabilitation.
The service supports the Level 1 Neuropsychiatric Rehabilitation Pathway for the North West , with a focus on adult males.
Cygnet Paddocks has individually designed wards to support a clear and distinctive care and treatment pathway for people affected by acquired brain injury.
The in-house interdisciplinary team includes neuropsychiatry, psychology, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, physiotherapy, nurses and support workers, all working together to keep the individual at the heart of their care and discharge planning.
Cygnet Paddocks is rated Good overall by the Care Quality Commission, with the Caring domain rated Outstanding.
A role for people with mental health experience This role is ideal for someone who already has experience in a mental health, healthcare, care, rehabilitation or support setting.
You may have worked as a: Senior Support Worker Team Leader Mental Health Support Worker Support Worker Healthcare Assistant Rehabilitation Assistant Brain Injury Support Worker Complex Needs Support Worker Care Assistant Residential Support Worker Recovery Worker Hospital Support Worker Experience supporting people with mental health needs, acquired brain injury, neurological conditions, challenging behaviours , physical health needs, safeguarding, personal care or emotional wellbeing would be highly valuable.

Shift Pattern You’ll work a structured rota across days, nights and alternate weekends.
Your rota will include: Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday Day shifts: 8:00am to 8:30pm Night shifts: 8:00pm to 8:30am This pattern gives you consistency, regular days off and the opportunity to build strong working relationships with colleagues and service users.
Your Day-to-Day As a Senior Support Worker at Cygnet Paddocks, you’ll play a key role in supporting men through their recovery and rehabilitation journey and supporting management in the day-to-day running of the service.
Your responsibilities will include: As a Senior Support Worker, you will: Offer enhanced care with a flexible and person-centred approach to all individuals in our care Support individuals to complete personal care activities while promoting dignity, choice and independence Provide guidance and encouragement through physical and emotional support Learn about individuals’ specific needs and provide support in the most appropriate way Assist with medical and welfare needs and report concerns as required Support individuals to manage their behaviour and work towards agreed goals Support management in the day-to-day running of the service Undertake supervisory and administrative responsibilities, including supporting and supervising support workers Safeguard individuals and maintain a safe, clean and supportive environment for all You are… We are looking for people who are genuinely driven to make a difference.
