Desian Education are proud to be working in collaboration with a two-form entry primary school in Widnes that is at the heart of its local community. They require an experienced and reliable teaching assistant to join their team on a temporary basis. This is an extremely exciting full-time opportunity where you will play an integral role in the development and education of a new pupil in the reception class.
Your new role: As a teaching assistant within this school, you will be joining an experienced EYFS cohort and work in collaboration with the reception class teacher to ensure that each pupil reaches their full academic potential by utilising an array of learning equipment/resources and building strong constructive relationships with your new pupils. You will directly support a new pupil to the class that has recently joined the school and moved to the Widnes area. Your pupil does have an EHCP with SEMH needs.
To promote their development, you will:
- Implement an array of positive behaviour strategies
- Hold 1:1 communication and well-being sessions
- Integrate into new pupil groups
- Support during break and lunch times
What you need to succeed:
- Full “Right to Work” in the UK
- A minimum of 40 days referenceable classroom experience within the last 2 years
- Good knowledge of the EYFS national curriculum
- Experience supporting SEN. SEMH is advantageous
- Have an Enhanced Children’s DBS certificate or willingness to obtain
