Clarence Park Residential & Nursing Care Home is a well established service in Weston-super-Mare, located close to the seafront and set within a characterful Victorian townhouse. Supporting up to 43 residents, the home provides high quality nursing, respite and palliative care within a calm, welcoming and team focused environment where staff can build meaningful relationships and make a genuine difference every day.
As a Maintenance Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the environment remains safe, well maintained and fully operational at all times within a complex care setting. This is a hands on role where your work directly supports the safety, comfort and wellbeing of individuals with a range of complex needs. You will carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks across the building and grounds, including repairs, inspections, installations and general upkeep. You will ensure equipment, systems and safety features are working effectively, identifying issues early and taking appropriate action to minimise disruption. Working closely with the Home Manager and wider team, you will support maintenance planning, compliance checks and contractor coordination where required. You will be mindful of working within an occupied care environment, ensuring tasks are completed safely, respectfully and with minimal impact on residents. You will contribute to maintaining a safe, secure and well organised environment, ensuring all work is carried out in line with health and safety standards and regulatory requirements.
What We Are Looking For
- Previous experience in maintenance, facilities or a similar role
- Good knowledge of general repairs, electrical and building maintenance
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Understanding of health and safety procedures and safe systems of work
- A proactive, practical and problem solving approach
- Reliable, organised and able to work within a care environment
