Accountabilities:

  • Assisting in major engineering control activities.
  • Carrying out basic engineering controls as directed.
  • Providing site operatives with information from drawings, schedules and the specification.
  • Completing quality checks including checks on survey equipment.
  • Keeping accurate records (diaries/photographs/site discussions).
  • Contributing to issuing of permits.
  • Identifying hazards and reporting Unsafe Situations.

Training Apprenticeship Standard: Civil Engineering technician Level 3 with Learning Skills Partnership.

Qualifications required:

  • GCSEs 4/C in Maths and English.
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grades A*-C / 9-4 including Maths (Grade B / 5 or 6), Science or Engineering.

Skills required:

  • Safety: Demonstrate best practice Safety Culture and promote and instil amongst project teams.
  • Communicating & Influencing: Effective communication skills; pro-active; able to identify problems and follow appropriate action to remedy (either directly or with reference to Project Manager).
  • Planning & Organising: Excellent organisational skills and time-management ability; able to adhere to work programmes, plans and goals, to ensure effective delivery of projects.
  • Cost Control Awareness: Accurate & rigorous compiling of day-to-day construction costs (labour, material & Equipment). Reporting of any changes of the scope of work.
  • Motivating: To encourage and build team spirit among project staff, bringing about mutual respect and cooperation.

Prospects Development:

  • Maintain CPD by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Keep up to date with industry sector and product developments, both externally and across the Freyssinet Group.
  • Internal networking to develop good working relationships in Freyssinet Ltd and the wider Freyssinet Group.
