At University Hospitals Bristol & Weston NHS Foundation Trust we are recruiting Facilities Assistants for our Temporary Staffing Bureau to create a bank of temporary workers who can work flexibly across Weston. As a Bank Facilities Assistant you will work within the Facilities team which provides an appropriate environment for patient care.
Responsibilities
- General cleaning, preparation and presentation of patients’ meals and drinks, portering duties, and working within kitchens and the cafe.
You will be allocated duties from the key tasks listed below and will be expected to demonstrate a flexible attitude to meet service delivery needs for patients within healthcare premises.
Tasks will include:
- Cleaning
- Vacuuming and dusting
- Mopping floors
- Cleaning toilets and bathrooms
- Cleaning beds and re‑making with clean linen
- Safely managing and collecting clinical and non‑clinical waste
- Catering
- Cooking frozen meals and preparing food
- Recording temperatures of meals before serving
- Serving drinks to patients, serving meals when clinical staff are unavailable
- Clearing up after mealtimes and cleaning dining areas
- Collecting and delivering food trolleys throughout our hospitals
- Portering
- Transport patients between wards, departments and hospitals as instructed
- Deliver and collect mail, gifts and parcels from wards and departments
- Distribute clean and collect soiled linen
- Receive and deliver stores from all wards and departments as directed
- Remove rubbish and clinical waste throughout the hospital
- Deal with enquiries from patients, visitors and staff
Training and Shift Patterns
- Training shifts include: Four full days of induction
- Shifts in cleaning, catering and portering to cover all areas of Facilities (you must complete these before booking additional shifts)
- Most available shifts are term time. The more availability you have, the more shifts you can work.
