Help people out of homelessness by joining our Social Enterprise team as our new Retail and eBay Sales Lead. If you have experience in a busy customer‐facing role, we'd love to hear from you.
About the role
In our charity shops, you will lead on all aspects of retail including pricing, merchandising, donated stock control, and excellent customer service. Online, you will identify eBay‐able goods, develop robust tracking systems, and pack and send items to meet tight deadlines to increase sales. You'll also bring your coaching and motivation skills to support our companions, who run our retail and online shops.
In addition to customer‐facing duties, you will help optimise processes and systems behind the scenes to maximise efficiency and minimise costs. You will provide sales income and expenditure figures and contribute to quarterly management‐information reports. You will work alongside and support volunteers in our retail and online enterprises.
About our charity
At Emmaus Bristol we provide a home, support, training and work experience to formerly homeless individuals (known here as companions). We fund our work partly through two shops selling second‐hand goods, a house‐clearance/furniture moving service and our eBay shop.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated new team member to work with the Reuse Manager and focus on the retail and eBay elements. Unlike many other charity shops, Emmaus Bristol's trading is primarily for purpose. This means the work‐based roles provided for companions in our enterprises are a vital source of support in their recovery from homelessness.
If you're interested in the role but don't tick every box on the job specification, we'd still love to hear from you if you have relevant experience and passion and energy for our cause.
Working pattern
The role is 37.5 hours per week, to be worked between 8 am and 6 pm, mainly Monday to Friday. This role will work alternate Saturdays with a day off in lieu the following week. The contract for the role is until 30 June 2028.
