About the Direct Payment Holder

To provide social support for a 28-year-old woman with Learning Disabilities by accompanying her to social and leisure activities. The role aims to develop her confidence and social skills in a fun and supportive way. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys social activities and wants to make a positive impact on someone’s life by helping them gain confidence and independence.

Hours and rate of pay

  • £12.71 per hour
  • 10 hours per week – Flexible – days, evenings and weekends (to be discussed at interview)

What you would be doing…

Key responsibilities include:

  • Accompany her on outings such as theatre, cinema and live music events
  • Restaurants and cafes
  • Shopping trips
  • Gym and other fitness activities
  • Encourage and support social interactions in various settings
  • Provide gentle guidance and reassurance to help build independence
  • Ensure her safety and well-being during outings
  • Be a friendly and supportive companion

Required skills and experience

  • Friendly, patient and understanding personality
  • Experience or interest in working with individuals with learning disabilities (preferred but not essential)
  • Reliable and able to work flexible hours (evenings and weekends)
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to encourage and support social development
  • A driver with access to a car - Essential
