Our Class 1 HGV Drivers are a key member of our team, working hand-in-hand with operations you’ll deliver more than just equipment, you’ll deliver a first-class experience to our diverse customer base. Your role goes beyond simply getting from A to B — you’ll be the face of our service, ensuring every delivery and collection meets the highest company standards while exceeding customer expectations.
Supporting your line manager, you’ll play a vital part in keeping our operations running smoothly, handling transport-related tasks with safety, precision, and efficiency. From timely deliveries and expert demonstrations to ensuring accurate documentation throughout. You’ll help us not only meet but surpass our business objectives, while building trust and confidence with every customer you serve.
Key Responsibilities- Complete daily vehicle checks, report any defects, and keep the vehicle clean and well-maintained
- Maintain accurate tachograph records of driving, rest, and duty periods
- Load equipment securely, ensuring all restraints and securing equipment are safe and reporting defects immediately
- Safely deliver and collect equipment to/from customers, suppliers, and Vp businesses
- Give demonstration and instruction of how our equipment works
- Promote a positive approach to Health, Safety, and the Environment, reporting issues as required
- Ensure equipment is left only in safe, secure locations
- Be flexible to work outside normal hours when needed
- Represent the company professionally and courteously
- Use the delivery/collection App for schedules, ETAs, and customer signoffs
- Check for and report any equipment loss or damage, taking confirmation photos where required
- Support depot operations when required, especially if your vehicle is off the road
- LGV Class 1 C + E Licence – Proven experience of LGV articulated vehicle driving - Essential
- Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC) - Essential
- Flexible approach to working hours is essential – early starts, late finishes
- Comfortable with regular nights away (roughly one per week)
- Competent plant operator (being able to instruct and demonstrate use of plant machinery)
- Willingness to deliver a high level of customer service and display a ‘can do’ attitude
- Ability to complete records and paperwork accurately is essential
- Comfortable using IT and related technology
- A reasonable level of fitness is required
- Flexible and reliable with excellent time keeping skills
