About the Role / Job
Summary: I am working with our Housing Association based in the Scottish Borders to fill the above role for a temporary period of 3 months with possible extension.
This role involves providing quality housing and support services to the community.
As a Welfare Benefits Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring tenants receive the welfare benefits they are entitled to, promoting awareness of financial support available, and contributing to the overall well‑being of the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide confidential welfare benefits information and advice to tenants.
- Promote awareness of welfare, housing, and financial benefits.
- Collaborate with housing management on complex rent arrears cases.
- Implement administrative systems to monitor and evaluate the service.
- Organise benefits 'take up' campaigns and prepare information for tenants.
