Due to increased workload, they are seeking an experienced PART TIME Accounts Assistant to join their finance team on an initial 6-month contract based in Wednesbury.

Your new role

As an Accounts Assistant, you will provide essential support to the finance team, reporting directly to the Management Accountant.

You will be responsible for a broad range of transactional accounting duties, helping to ensure financial records are accurate, up to date and compliant.

  • Processing, verifying and reconciling supplier invoices within the accounts payable function.
  • Reconciling supplier statements and investigating any discrepancies.
  • Generating and issuing customer invoices and logging incoming payments.
  • Supporting credit control activities, including chasing overdue balances and responding to customer invoice queries.
  • Recording daily bank transactions and performing month‑end bank reconciliations.
  • Preparing and posting journal entries through the accounting system.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting internal controls.
  • Assisting the wider finance team with month‑end reporting activities and ad hoc finance tasks as required.
  • What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience in a transactional finance, accounts assistant or bookkeeping position and be comfortable managing a varied workload in a fast‑paced environment.

  • A minimum of 1 year’s experience within a finance or accounting support role.
  • Strong IT skills including Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders.
  • The ability to prioritise tasks effectively and work independently.
  • Immediate availability or the ability to start at short notice.
