I am a disabled adult who uses an electric wheelchair, and I am looking for a reliable, friendly and motivated Personal Assistant / Support Worker to support me with daily life. This is a community based role supporting my independence, daily routines, appointments, social activities, hobbies and general day to day life. I am looking for someone who is caring, patient, practical and interested in making a genuine difference. This job is not just “care work”. It is about helping me live independently, stay organised, get out and about, and enjoy ordinary life with the right support in place.

Duties may include:

  • Supporting me with daily routines
  • Personal care where required
  • Assistance with mobility and transfers
  • Supporting with meals, drinks and household tasks
  • Accompanying me to appointments, social activities and community outings
  • Helping with organisation, planning and general independence
  • Providing respectful, person centred support.

Previous care experience is useful but not essential. The right attitude matters most. Full training can be provided. This role may suit someone who is studying, has recently left college or university, or is interested in gaining experience in health, social care, psychology, nursing, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, disability support or similar.

I am looking for someone who is:

  • Reliable and punctual
  • Calm, respectful and patient
  • Friendly and easy to talk to
  • Willing to learn
  • Able to follow instructions
  • Comfortable supporting a wheelchair user
  • Professional but down to earth.

This is a rewarding role for someone who wants meaningful work, not just another generic job.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meal Preparation
  • Personal Care
  • Domestic Care
  • Social Leisure activities
  • Support to remain independent
  • Transportation

Full UK driving license and own personal car are required. Ability to drive a motability equipped car is also necessary.
