Overview of Job Role

To be a proactive practitioner who supports and delivers confidently the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Provide a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment in which babies and young children are supported and encouraged to achieve their full potential. Offer full and practical support in the day‑to‑day running of the nursery and be flexible to the needs of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the EYFS curriculum and lead practical sessions with pre‑school children (ages 3‑4 years).
  • Plan and deliver activities for a group of eight children, ensuring each session lasts a minimum of 30‑40 minutes and incorporates primary and specific areas of the EYFS.
  • Promote a safe and inclusive environment, attending to children’s individual needs and supporting their development.
  • Assist in the daily running of the nursery, including supervision, safeguarding, and implementing nursery procedures.
  • Maintain effective communication with colleagues, children, and parents.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum Early Years qualification: Level 2 Diploma in Childcare (equivalent or higher).
  • GCSE Maths and English grades C or above (or equivalent Level 2).
  • Any safeguarding/child protection training and qualification.
  • Practical experience in childcare (1 year preferred).
  • Must be aged 16 or older and no longer in full‑time education.

Working Hours

Flexible between 7 am and 6 pm, Monday to Friday.

Work Location

In‑person, at the nursery facility.

Contract Type

Full‑time apprenticeship role (Level 3).
