We are looking for an enthusiastic, forward thinking senior nurse with a passion for quality and safety and the drive and commitment to deliver world class patient focused care. An opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Ward Nurse Manager on our busy Gastroenterology unit ward 4A. You should be a Registered Nurse with a minimum of 2 years Gastroenterology experience at Band 6. You should have a keen interest in providing high quality, harm free, patient centred care in a busy, fast paced, ever changing and often challenging environment.
For this role you will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills and possess the ability to lead the team effectively. As a Ward Manager you must display a positive and professional manner, have a non-judgemental attitude, and be open to change. In return you will receive support to develop personally and professionally and gain invaluable leadership and management experience.
The successful candidate will be expected to be a motivated leader, with excellent managerial and leadership skills, who has the drive and passion to create an inspirational learning and working environment, that continuously strives for the highest standards of quality care and has patient safety at the forefront of the services and care provided. You will be supported in your role by the Matron and a dedicated team of medical and nursing staff.
The post holder will have accountability for the quality and safety of the ward/department 24 hours a day, 7 days per week, ensuring a high standard of nursing care. Key responsibilities will include the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care, effective leadership and staff management/development. The post holder will always work within the NMC's Code of Professional Conduct.
