We have an exciting opportunity for a Ward Clerk on our short stay medical unit (Ward 29). The role provides efficient, effective and comprehensive administrative support for the department and area.

Responsibilities:

  • Record keeping, data entry, filing and scanning.
  • Deal with telephone queries, checking and updating patient information with clinical staff, managers and patients.
  • Communicate information verbally and in writing, providing routine information for patients and staff (e.g., discharge, admission, transfers, appointments).
  • Handle barriers to understanding for anxious patients, relatives, cultural differences, language or communication difficulties.
  • Update patient management systems.
  • Answer calls and greet patients/relatives.
  • Prepare notes and support the nursing team with all aspects of ward administration.
  • Cover shifts from 8am until 8pm.
