An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse secondment to join a fast‑paced ward within the Division of Medicine and Long Term Conditions Team in the Endoscopy Department. The department manages a high daily patient load, creating an energetic environment where you will have the chance to participate in improvement programmes and contribute to change management, supporting the department's commitment to high quality care. As the clinical leader you will oversee nursing care, work with the multidisciplinary team, and support junior staff under your duty span.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership for the unit during duty spans, coordinating nursing care with Senior Sister and Matron.
- Supervise, educate and support qualified nurses and trainee staff.
- Deliver nursing care and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary professionals.
- Participate in improvement programmes, change management, audit and quality initiatives.
- Ensure service delivery upholds the Trust values and clinical governance principles.
Qualifications
- Band 6 senior nursing experience within Endoscopy or a similar unit.
- Excellent communication, caring, compassionate and willingness to learn.
- Experience working flexibly within shift rotas to meet service demands.
- Demonstrated ability to support and develop junior staff.
