The predicted salary is between 28800 - 43200 Β£ per year.
This is an AfC Band 5 position:
- Work within NMC codes of practice and professional guidelines.
- Work autonomously within Trust guidelines and sphere of professional practice with reference to departmental manager as appropriate.
- Maintain revalidation requirements and meet with named manager for an annual review.
- Provide effective and visible clinical leadership.
- Advocate and support the rights of individual women to make informed choices about their care.
- Promote equality, diversity and rights.
- Undertake all mandatory training required by the Trust and specific to midwifery practice.
- This role is not suitable for internationally educated Midwives without an active UK NMC pin.
- Facilitate womenβs involvement in the decision making process regarding all aspects of their pregnancy, birth and postnatal care.
- Demonstrate sound organisational skills when planning clinical workload.
- Provide high quality, evidence-based midwifery care to women and their families throughout the maternity pathway.
- Work collaboratively with others to provide a seamless pathway of care for women and their families.
- Recognise deviations from normality and escalate appropriately.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills in order to share information appropriately with women, their families and the multi-disciplinary team.
- Effectively manage the expectations of women and their families whilst in your care.
- Recognise and identify adult and child safeguarding issues and take appropriate action to safeguard the woman, her unborn and other children within the family.
- Work as a supportive team member to develop an environment that encourages effective team working amongst staff.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all clinical equipment utilised within the clinical areas within the Maternity services.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the Trust Risk Management policy and actively contribute to improve patient care and outcomes.
Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is an integrated Trust and the only provider of NHS acute care in Walsall, serving a population of 284,300. It provides inpatient and outpatient services at the Manor Hospital as well as a wide range of services in the community. Walsall Manor houses the full range of district general hospital services under one roof. The Β£170 million development was completed in 2010, and ongoing upgrades ensure the Trust now has state-of-the-art facilities, including a Critical Care Unit, Neonatal Unit, Obstetric Theatre, and Integrated Assessment Unit. A new Urgent and Emergency Care Centre, opened in March 2023, has significantly improved emergency care facilities and capacity, providing almost 5,000 square metres of additional clinical space.
