As a paediatric clinical support worker you will be working under the guidance of the nursing team and senior sister to deliver high quality clinical care to our patients. You will be a valuable member of our team and in return we will invest in our staff with a comprehensive induction programme and providing further training and paths for progression.
Responsibilities
- Assist the nursing team to provide high quality care to patients.
- Work within the multidisciplinary team and utilise effective communication to promote excellent patient care.
- Help patients meet their hygiene and nutritional needs.
- Escort patients safely throughout the hospital to different locations.
- Help maintain ward IPC standards.
- Maintain training compliance.
- Complete Fire warden Training.
- Promote professional behaviour which supports our trust values.
- Provide the highest standard of nursing care for patients under supervision of a registered nurse.
- Carry out assigned tasks including direct care and indirect care as delegated by the nursing team.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills both verbal and non verbal.
- Demonstrate high standards in record keeping.
- Support registered nursing staff with clinical treatments and investigations as appropriate, to the level of knowledge and skill.
- Escort patients to other departments within the hospital, ensuring patient safety & dignity is maintained.
- Chaperone patients during clinical examinations as and when required, ensuring the patient’s privacy and dignity is maintained throughout.
- Adhere to Trust Infection Control Policies.
