This vacancy is for a Midwife Vaccinator to support a new initiative to offer the vaccine programme for pregnant women out in a community hub, alongside the current vaccination offer. We are looking for an enthusiastic registered midwife to facilitate the maternity immunisation service in the community, as well as 2 evenings per week in the antenatal clinic setting.

Responsibilities

  • Promote the vaccination programme to pregnant women to improve uptake of flu, pertussis and RSV vaccines.
  • Run daily planned clinics and ad-hoc clinics to deliver vaccines.
  • Develop and maintain an engaging, woman-centred and public-health approach to increase vaccination uptake and tackle inequalities.
  • Provide advice and information about immunisation to educate staff, antenatal women and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain and update electronic records.

Qualifications

  • Registered midwife with an active UK NMC PIN.
  • Confident with clinical records systems.
  • Skilled in discussing the benefits of vaccinations in pregnancy.
  • Efficient in delivering vaccinations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Internationally educated midwives without an active UK NMC pin are not considered.
