An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join the Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust In Patient Area as a Maternity Care Assistant within maternity services. Posts are available on the delivery suite and the inpatient wards.

Role Overview

The Maternity Care Assistant provides support to the Midwifery and medical team via this exciting and varied role. You will be working as part of the team in the Inpatient service but may on occasions be required to provide support to other clinical areas within the maternity unit, gaining a wide variety of skills and knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the Midwifery and medical team across inpatient and delivery areas.
  • Assist with clinical duties as required within the maternity unit.
  • Support other clinical areas on request.

Working hours

Work a variety of day and night shift patterns across a 7‑day service, including weekends and all bank holidays. Preference for full time or part time should be stated on the application.

Qualifications

  • Good computer and administrative skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills, both face‑to‑face and on the telephone.
