The predicted salary is between 23970 - 25674 £ per year.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our department for a highly motivated individual, with good levels of numeracy and literacy and excellent communication skills. The post holder has responsibility for the provision of a professional, comprehensive and efficient reception and booking service for patients and members of the department and managing the patient pathway in line with the Emergency Department Operational Policy.
The main duties include:
- Registering patients on arrival to the emergency department
- Scanning, emailing, filing, answering enquiries
- Liaising with patients, relatives, carers, outside agencies and colleagues face to face and via telephone
- Maintaining confidentiality at all times
- Ensuring good communication between the administration team and the clinical team
- Directing patients to the appropriate waiting area or department in a courteous and professional manner
- Keeping patients' demographic details up to date in the medical records and on the Patient Administration System (Careflow)
- Using the Patient Administration System (Careflow) to book patients onto the Emergency Department Whiteboard on arrival
- Working towards meeting department competency framework and undertaking training
- Ensuring notes in the filing folder are scanned in and filed away
- Requesting and locating hospital records as required
- Ensuring computer, printer equipment and stationery is available and working effectively
- Being flexible in your approach to work, covering other job roles and varying working hours
- Showing new staff how to carry out basic reception duties
- Maintaining patient confidentiality at all times
- Carrying out any other duties, within the grade, as requested by the Supervisor/CGSM
