We are looking for a proactive and influential EHS Manager to join the ASHI/Anglian Group EHS team, supporting Anglian Building Products (ABP) across multiple worksites and depots. This is a critical role with real impact, ensuring safe operations, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement throughout the organisation.
About the Role
The ASHI/Anglian Group EHS team plays a key role in supporting and coordinating with ABPâs Technical, Compliance, and SHEQ functions. As EHS Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Conducting planned Health & Safety/EHS inspections across ABP contract worksites, depots, and temporary compounds, following agreed schedules and standards.
- Producing detailed inspection reports, including performance rankings, for the ASHI/Anglian Head of Group EHS and the ABP Head of Technical & Compliance.
- Monitoring, measuring, analysing, and evaluating safety and environmental performance through systematic audits.
- Identifying incidents and nonconformities, implementing corrective actions, and driving a culture of continuous improvement.
- Exercising authority to immediately stop unsafe work in the event of a serious breach, and escalating appropriately.
- Supporting the transition from hardcopy reporting to the Evotix digital system.
- Collating completion statistics for ladder and hop equipment registers, with ongoing migration to Evotix formats.
- Overseeing accident and near-miss reporting within Evotix, producing monthly performance statistics, commentary, and improvement recommendations.
- Preparing monthly health, safety, and environmental performance data for Group and ABP Board papers.
- Ensuring ABP installers participate in relevant Group health & safety initiatives such as training, toolbox talks, annual face-fit testing, and asbestos emergency procedure readiness.
- Supporting toolbox talks and monitoring completion statistics for ABP installation teams.
About You
Weâre looking for someone who can build strong relationships across teams, influence safe behaviours, and bring expertise to the role.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 3 yearsâ experience in a more senior EHS role (6+ years preferred).
- Background in manufacturing or construction.
- Strong working knowledge of ISO standards and CDM Regulations.
- Level 3 NEBOSH qualification with suitable/demonstrable experience as a minimum (Level 6 NEBOSH Diploma or similar preferred).
- Experience conducting audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Confident decision-maker with the ability to stop unsafe work when necessary.
- Strong communication skills, both at board level and grassroots.
- Had previous experience with behavioural change/hearts & minds.
