We are seeking an experienced Nuclear Medicine practitioner to join our team as Deputy Nuclear Medicine Superintendent. The post holder will support the Superintendent in the operational, clinical and professional leadership of the Nuclear Medicine service, ensuring safe, high quality and compliant delivery of services. The role is open to Nuclear Medicine Radiographers or Nuclear Medicine Technologists with relevant Nuclear Medicine experience. The post holder will support regulatory compliance, workforce development, service improvement and deputise for the Superintendent when required. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practitioner looking to develop leadership skills within a supportive and forward thinking service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support delivery of a safe, effective and high quality Nuclear Medicine service
- Deputise for the Superintendent as required
- Support day to day operational coordination of the department
- Support supervision, training and competency development of staff and students
- Support compliance with radiation legislation, ARSAC licensing and environmental permits
- Contribute to audit, governance and quality improvement activity
- Support service development and implementation of new pathways or technology
- Maintain high standards of patient care, safety and experience
The post holder will perform Nuclear Medicine examinations to a high specialist standard and support safe administration of radiopharmaceuticals in line with local and national guidance. The post holder will support compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements including IRR17, IR(ME)R, ARSAC licensing conditions and Environment Agency permits, working with Trust radiation protection and governance teams. The post holder will support development, review and audit of clinical protocols, Local Rules, IR(ME)R procedures and departmental policies. The post holder will support training, supervision and competency assessment of staff and students and contribute to workforce development and succession planning. The post holder will contribute to audit, research, quality improvement and service development activity. The post holder will support incident reporting, investigation and risk management processes in line with Trust governance frameworks. The post holder will maintain professional registration and ongoing professional development relevant to Nuclear Medicine practice.
