Our Pharmacy currently has an opportunity for a Bank Pharmacy Assistant. The role is continually developing; the successful applicant will be required to have an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Pharmacy Services. This qualification will support the individual to carry out the main duties for this post with additional in‑house training. Personal development needs will be identified through an annual individual performance review.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dispense and label prescriptions for patients.
  • Use the automated medicines cabinet to dispense from ward level and replenish cabinet stocks.
  • Enter data onto computer systems such as the pharmacy and ward orders.
  • Use the prescription tracking system and dispense using the robot.
  • Assist with stock management, stock takes, procurement and distribution (stores).
  • Supply stock items to wards via a topping‑up system and conduct ward storage audits.
  • Begin first rotation in pharmacy distribution.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • GCSE in English and Mathematics Grade C or above (or equivalent).
  • Keyboard skills and ability to handle stock on a routine basis.
  • Experience in dispensing and labeling medicines.
  • Customer focused, keen to learn, hardworking and able to work under pressure.
  • Experience working in a pharmacy – community or hospital.
