About the person:
I am an 18 year old male living in the Penarth area with my family. I am an outgoing and friendly person who is empathetic and enjoys understanding others’ feelings. I attend school full time and am doing well.
Interests and daily life:
I would like a PA to join in with my hobbies, which could include watching a film in the cinema or staying at home and playing video games. I have an ongoing foot injury and may have surgery as I relearn how to walk.
Medical and accessibility information:
I have had a hemispherectomy (half my brain removed) due to Rasmussen Syndrome, which has caused left‑sided weakness and a visual field loss on that side. I use a crutch to balance and a wheelchair for longer distances. I experience seizures from time to time, but they are being carefully managed.
Purpose of the role:
To support me in the community and help towards my independence.
Location:
In the local area of Penarth.
Hours:
4 hours on a weekend.
Rate of pay:
£14.80 per hour, £0.40 per mile.
Tasks involved:
- Potential support with dressing and undressing if going swimming
- Social outings
- Community activities

About the job:
This position is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS Disclosure (Police Check), which must be completed prior to the commencement of employment. The cost of this check will be covered by the Local Authority. All necessary checks will be conducted to verify that the candidate has the legal right to work in the UK before employment begins. Although this is a part-time role, it is a legitimate position requiring the submission of a National Insurance number. Employment will commence under an initial trial period. Wages will be paid on a 4 weekly basis and appropriate holiday pay will be provided.
