Overview

The Directorate of Biochemistry spans four sites, each equipped with state‑of‑the‑art Roche systems, including the largest fully automated Roche tracking system in Europe. The Trafford laboratory offers a range of complex and specialist biochemistry services for adult and paediatric patients nationwide.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a Medical Laboratory Assistant, supporting HCPC registered staff in a biochemistry setting.
  • Perform a range of automated, semi‑automated, and manual processes with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, clinical governance, and risk management standards.

Qualifications

  • Evidence of NHS laboratory experience (experience within biochemistry desirable).
  • Full training will be provided if required.
  • Possession of an appropriate science NVQ level 3, HCS Apprenticeship level 2, Certificate of Achievement level 1, or equivalent experience.
