We are looking for an experienced Pharmacy Technician to plan and co-ordinate a busy dispensary whilst ensuring accuracy and meeting dispensing targets. You will have a vision to embed the trust values in your work and will lead by example to ensure the team perform to the highest standards. You will motivate and engage the team and must have a passion for improving patient experience. You should be able to demonstrate excellent time management, prioritisation skills and show commitment.
When not co-ordinating in the dispensary you will participate in routine pharmacy technician duties, including dispensing and accuracy checking. We are committed to supporting you with relevant training and development so if you are not trained in accuracy checking then you will be required to commence training with us within 3 months.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and co-ordinate and supervise less experienced staff working in the dispensary service to ensure that medicines are dispensed in an accurate and timely manner including unlicensed medicines, cytotoxics and clinical trial material.
- Accuracy check prescriptions.
- Ensure the training and development needs of all staff working in the dispensary are fulfilled, for example, student technicians, support workers, rotational pharmacists, pre-registration pharmacists and technicians, in line with pre-defined training programmes.
- Ensure that adequate stocks of medicines are maintained and be responsible for the completion of the daily stock reconciliation process solving any problems identified, including correction and financial amendment.
- Undertakes basic work based assessments e.g risk assessments.
Posts are 37:30 hours per week worked between 9am and 9pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 5pm Saturdays, Sundays.
